Monica was raised in the outskirts of Sydney with her brother Wayne and sister Gabriela.
Her parents met in Singapore where her father was touring with the Australian Army and her mother was touring with a German dance company.
From challenges in her childhood Monica withdrew to the sanctity of art in her own world.
Whilst raising her family as a sole parent, Monica turned to writing and illustrating children's books as her creative and cathartic outlet.
As the children grew she returned to her love of the visual arts and explores figurative and portrait painting in a traditional and contemporary style.
She remarried in 2005 and lives in Brisbane with her husband Andreas. Between them they have 4 daughters, and 8 grandchildren.
Monica works in oils and seeks to find the line of a person whilst exploring the subtleties of character, emotions, spirit and culture.
